At a Glance

  • We collect information you provide when you join a mailing list, make a contribution, request public recognition, contact us, or submit content.
  • Stripe processes online contributions. We receive transaction details, but we do not store full payment-card or bank-account numbers on our servers.
  • We do not publish a supporter’s name unless the supporter opts in or otherwise gives permission.
  • We use self-hosted analytics and security tools to operate and protect the site. We do not sell or rent personal information or use it for behavioral advertising.
  • You may unsubscribe from promotional email at any time and may contact us about access, correction, or deletion requests.

1) Information We Collect

Mailing-list subscriptions. When you subscribe to the Belief Brief, The Fellowship updates, or another mailing list, we collect your email address and any optional information shown on the form, such as your name or communication preferences.

Contributions and transactions. Stripe collects payment and transaction information needed to process your contribution. Stripe may provide us with your name, email address, billing or contact information, contribution amount, currency, date, payment status, payment-link or campaign information, refund or dispute information, and related transaction identifiers. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card or bank-account number.

Supporter recognition. If you request public acknowledgment, we may collect your preferred display name, organization name, recognition preference, anonymity choice, and applicable recognition category. Please do not provide another person’s name or organization without authorization.

Communications and submissions. If you contact us, complete a form, apply for a program, respond to a survey, or submit documents, photos, videos, comments, testimonials, or other material, we collect the information you choose to provide and the related correspondence.

Website, analytics, and security data. Our site and security tools may collect IP address, browser and device details, referring and exit pages, requested URLs, timestamps, approximate location derived from IP address, and diagnostic, security, or interaction data. We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the site.

Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies or similar technologies needed for site operation, security, preferences, forms, and analytics. Third-party features, including Stripe checkout and embedded YouTube videos, may use their own cookies or similar technologies under their respective privacy policies. We do not use personal information for behavioral advertising.

We do not intentionally request sensitive personal information through ordinary mailing-list or contribution forms. Please avoid including sensitive information unless it is necessary for a specific program or request.

2) How We Use Information

We may use personal information to:

  • Process contributions, provide receipts, maintain financial records, prevent fraud, respond to disputes, and administer fundraising campaigns.
  • Calculate and display aggregate campaign totals and supporter counts.
  • Provide public supporter recognition only when authorized, and manage recognition categories or screen acknowledgments.
  • Send newsletters, project updates, event invitations, advocacy alerts, and other communications you requested.
  • Respond to inquiries, applications, submissions, privacy requests, and support needs.
  • Operate, secure, diagnose, measure, and improve the website and our programs.
  • Comply with legal, accounting, reporting, sanctions, fraud-prevention, and recordkeeping obligations and protect the rights and safety of FFF and others.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

3) Public Recognition and Campaign Totals

Campaign totals and supporter counts may be displayed publicly in aggregate. Aggregate displays do not identify individual supporters.

If you opt in to public recognition, we may publish the display name and recognition category you authorize on our website, in production credits, in campaign materials, or in related communications. We will not intentionally publish your email address or payment details. A contribution amount will be published only if we clearly say so and you authorize it.

You may ask us to correct or remove future online recognition by contacting us. We will make reasonable efforts to update material under our control, but we may be unable to alter copies already distributed, downloaded, archived, printed, syndicated, or incorporated into a completed production.

4) Email Communications

Mailing lists are managed through Mailster on our WordPress site, and email may be delivered through Mailgun. We use mailing-list information to send the communications described on the applicable signup form. You can unsubscribe through the link in an email or contact us. We may retain a minimal suppression record so that we do not send promotional email after you unsubscribe.

We do not automatically add contributors to a promotional mailing list merely because they made a contribution unless they separately consent or applicable law permits the communication.

5) When We Share Information

We share personal information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including with:

  • Stripe and financial partners for payment processing, fraud prevention, refunds, disputes, and related financial services. Stripe’s privacy practices are described at stripe.com/privacy.
  • Mailgun and Mailster-related services for mailing-list management and email delivery.
  • Cloudflare, WordPress hosting, security, analytics, and technical-service providers that help us host, protect, maintain, and improve the site.
  • Professional advisers and authorities when reasonably necessary for legal, accounting, audit, security, fraud-prevention, or compliance purposes.
  • A successor organization in connection with a reorganization, merger, transfer of operations, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards and applicable law.

Service providers may process information in the United States or other countries and are permitted to use it only as allowed by their agreements and applicable law.

6) Legal Bases for International Visitors

Where laws such as the European Economic Area or United Kingdom data-protection rules require a legal basis, we rely as applicable on your consent, performance of a transaction or steps you request, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating, securing, improving, and supporting our programs and communications. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

7) Your Choices and Privacy Rights

  • Unsubscribe. Use the link in an email or contact us to stop promotional messages.
  • Recognition choices. Choose anonymity when offered or contact us to request correction or removal of future online recognition.
  • Access, correction, or deletion. You may ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we control.
  • Additional rights. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, obtain a portable copy, withdraw consent, or appeal a response.

To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information when required or permitted by law. You may also contact the relevant privacy or data-protection authority in your jurisdiction.

8) Data Retention

  • Mailing-list data: retained while you are subscribed and afterward as reasonably necessary to honor opt-outs, document consent, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.
  • Contribution and transaction records: retained as reasonably necessary for accounting, tax, audit, fraud-prevention, dispute, campaign-administration, and legal purposes.
  • Recognition records: retained while recognition is active and as reasonably necessary to document authorization and maintain production or campaign records.
  • Analytics, security, and correspondence records: retained for periods reasonably necessary to operate, protect, troubleshoot, and improve the site, after which they may be deleted, de-identified, or aggregated.

Stripe and other service providers maintain information according to their own retention policies and legal obligations.

9) Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No transmission or storage method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10) Children’s Privacy

The site’s mailing lists and contribution features are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them through those features. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action. Minors should make contributions or submit personal information only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.

11) International Visitors and Data Transfers

We are based in Utah, United States. If you access the site from another country, your information may be processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws from your country.

12) Third-Party Sites and Embedded Services

Our site may link to or embed services operated by others, including Stripe and YouTube. Their collection and use of information are governed by their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review those policies before using the services.

13) Do-Not-Track and Preference Signals

Some browsers offer “Do Not Track” or other privacy-preference signals. Because there is not a single universally applicable standard for all such signals, our site may not respond uniformly to them. We do not sell personal information or use it for behavioral advertising.

14) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version, update the “Last Updated” date, and provide additional notice when required by law or when changes are material.
