How it Began

“I can’t be the only one to witness this moment.”

Patrice Pederson
President, The First Freedom Foundation

During a weekly Fellowship meeting, Blessy, a Christian Fellow in India, shared how a Hindu priest had tried to kill her aunt. Suvra, a Hindu Fellow in Bangladesh, responded with nothing but empathy.

Watching that exchange, Fellowship founder Patrice Pederson thought, “The world needs to see this. I can’t be the only one to witness this moment.” That was when the idea for The Fellowship was born.

And it was only the beginning. Over the course of the Fellowship, Patrice witnessed genuine empathy and love across deep differences. She wanted the world to see what she was seeing.

Disagreement does not require disconnection.

The FoRB Fellowship brings together emerging leaders from different countries, religions, and beliefs to defend freedom of conscience for everyone—including people whose beliefs they oppose. We’re raising funds to bring 12 Fellows together, film their experience, and share it with the world.

WHY WE’RE RELEASING ON YOUTUBE

Free to watch.
Made possible by
people like you.

We could pursue a commercial release of The Fellowship, but we want these stories to reach people everywhere, regardless of their ability to pay.

For religious minorities, seeing someone from their own community represented on a global stage can be powerful. That includes Christians in India, Ahmadiyya Muslims in Pakistan, Uyghurs from East Turkistan, Falun Gong practitioners in China, and Yazidi and Rohingya genocide survivors from Iraq and Burma.

For viewers of every faith and none, it’s an invitation to discover something of themselves in one another’s stories.

That’s why we’re releasing the series on YouTube, supported by people like you.

Your gift helps bring these stories to the people who need to see them most.
